Prairie Sunset
Can't believe it's been three months since I posted anything. I have started a painting of a sunset scene. I took some photos at Pawnee Buttes on an archaeology survey I did with History Colorado. In the painting I combined a sunset photo and a photo of some cattle and a windmill. The progression shows the start with the clouds, then added darker clouds, the sunset and then the windmill. Still working on the cattle in the foreground. Oil on canvas 24 x 30.

Desert Collage
This is a collage I did with pieces of paper and fluid acrylics. The cactus on the left is done with corrugated cardboard painted green, other papers are tissue paper, torn up egg cartons. The gessoed board was covered with moulding paste for texture before painting. The scene is the same one I did an oil painting of in a previous post.

Athena the Great Horned Owl
This is a painting I did this afternoon. Oil on canvas, 8X10, painted from Bill Pelzmann's photo, Rocky Mountain Nature Photographers. Nature's Educators did a photo shoot with the club in January. Athena is Nature's Educators Great Horned Owl. I volunteer with Nature's Educators and was Athena's handler during the photo shoot.
